Purpose of the United Church Women
To unite the women of the congregation for the total mission of the church
and to provide a medium through which
we may express our loyality and devotion to Jesus Christ
in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service.
UCW First Annual Potluck Dinner
A UCW gathering was held November 24th, 2009 in the Pendleton Church basement. Crafts were done and many delicious dishes were shared. A special thank you to Lila Howard. Renee Yuill and all the women for the wonderful evening.
On March 10, 2009 I met with our ladies of the church for my first meeting as President of our UCW. What a wonderful turnout . The first order of business was something that I felt needed attending to. What and who are we? Well, a great discussion ensued and a vote was taken to rename our UCW the Riceville-Pendleton UCW. It is in the spirit of the first line of our UCW purpose "To unite the women of the congregation for the total mission of the church" It was a unanimous vote and it is with great pride that our two charges now are one "The Riceville-Pendleton UCW"
Our next meeting is June 9th, it will be an occasion for us all to get to know each other better. Lila Howard will be the facilitator of this intriguing event. She has asked that all those who will be in attendance get a baby picture of yourself to her. I'm looking forward to this, knowing more about everyone will be good fun and fellowship. I hope to see you there.

No event would be complete without some treats which were served during our meetings instead of after, just one of the new changes to our meetings, I hope you will feel welcome to come to our next meeting and bring a friend the more the merrier. I'm very excited to what other fresh ideas are brought to our "new and improved" Riceville-Pendleton UCW meeting on June 9th. See you there.....
