• collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries;
• preparing gift boxes to help out some families with children in our communities.
  
• 2010 News......The ladies attending the July 13th UCW meeting each brought a favourite "easy to prepare" recipe and volunteers used these recipes to prepare a mini-cookbook that was distributed with the 2010 gift boxes. The boxes are distributed via Integra (formerly Children's Aid & Family Services).
  
  Thanks to the ongoing generosity of our congregation, sufficent supplies were collected to gift 16 boxes of non-perishable food items in 2010.
  
  In addition to the UCW initiative, donations at our "White Gift Sunday" service allowed us to prepare an additional 4 generous sized gift boxes for distribution at Christmas time.
  
  2011 News Due to the lack of storage space, we are going to concentrate our efforts to two collection periods during 2011. Our *first was this spring around Easter time and the second will be in the fall, possibly September. Notice of timing will be distributed 2 weeks prior to the collection date so people will have time to prepare their own collection of donated items.
  
  Note: Please check expiry dates on food items as on occasion stores miss the dates and leave expired food stuffs on the shelves.
  
  *Sunday April 10 was the first collection date for 2011.
  Thanks to those who brought goods to church in April, we delivered 3 large boxes and 2 reusable grocery bags to Integra for distribution in our area.
  
  If you are interested in lending a hand towards the continued success of the UCW Gift Basket initiative, your contributions can be brought with you to Sunday services on the designated dates or, you can contact the following UCW members directly to make other arrangements. We are always thankful for your help with achieving our goal of reaching out to those who need, and appreciate, a bit of support from fellow community neighbours.
