Sunday School

Sunday School Time

The children begin the regular service with their families in the sanctuary. The Minister invites the children to come forward to hear a children’s sermon which is followed by a hymn. During the last verse, the children are led downstairs by the Sunday school teachers.

Our teachers have annual police checks and work as a team (min. 2 adults). Parents are always welcomed to accompany their children downstairs.

The Sunday school frequently participates in the Sunday service. They are the Junior Choir and sing on special occasions. They have also assisted with serving Holy Communion.

Christmas Angel Program

The children collect Canadian Tire money, as well they donate money of their own to purchase toys for other children that may not be fortunate enough to receive much at Christmas time. It's heart warming to know that the children understand that giving is as much of the Christmas Spirit as receiving. We are very proud of our small yet very dedicated children. Thank you for all the support from the congregation, parents and community...and yes to the children for making this wonderful program a success.

When asked what they say to their friends about Sunday School, here are some comments from our children.
Ethan: "so they can learn about God, so you sing, my favorite part is the singing. I like it when Cathy comes and plays the piano."

Cody: "The name Sunday School is because we have school on Sunday, we learn about God, Jesus and the disciples. There are a lot of fun stories and fun songs to sing."

Kiera: "We learn lots of different things like fire drill and being nice to one another and my favorite song is, This Little Light of Mine."

Melodie: "I like to come to Sunday School because I like to learn, I like to make crafts and hear stories."

Nanny(Eleanor, teacher): "I love to come and help the children in Sunday School because I see the enjoyment that they receive from their Bible stories and the crafts related to the stories. Also the smiles on their faces when Cathy comes down for our time together when we sing."
