Blessings...

Don & Isabel Kinnear are pleased to have a new granddaughter, born on August 24 – Emilie Anne. A little sister for Alexandre and Mathieu. The busy, happy parents are Blair & Julie!


On October 2, 2008, Doreen and Gordon Wylie welcomed their first grandchild Brooke Marie Wylie, daughter of Andrew and Caitie.

welcomed granddaughter Sadie Laura Lee Veitch, born on May 15, 2008 to Dana Lebeau and Chris Veitch and grandson Carter Anthony Edwin Chapman, born August 26, 2008 to Michelle and Chris Chapman.

welcomed their second grandson Mathieu William into their family on April 24, 2008. He is the son of Julie and Blair Kinnear and brother to Alexandre.



Remembering...

Over the last few years a number of families in our Church community have lost family members.


Ray Lebeau's mother - Irene Ivy Lebeau died on February 27, 2011 died on February 27, 2011

 

June Johnston’s mother – Dorothy Pollard died on October 10, 2011; died on October 10, 2011;

Dona Pytel’s mother – Jean Cameron died on November 8, 2011;

Mabel Robillard’s mother -- Grace Peever died on November 12, 2011.

 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all members of these families as they cherish their memories and value every precious day.



The Fletcher family suffered a great loss with the death of Dianna, on Sept. 14, 2010 Dianna fought bravely against the cancer that gradually took her life. We remember her children, brothers and sisters and all her extended family.

A former member of Riceville United Church and organist, Lorraine Rowe died in hospital in Ottawa on May 21, 2010. Our sympathies to her husband Gary, brother Doug and all family members.

Jim Fairnie who passed away 26 February 2010, at the age of 88. He was a Naval veteran of the Second World War, serving as a Chief Petty Officer. He was buried at the National Military Cemetery (NMC) of the Canadian Forces at Beechwood. Our sincere condolences go out to sisters Eleanor and Sally and all family members.

Gretta Elizabeth Fisher (Nee Clemens) passed peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at the age of 86 years. She was the loving wife of the late John Fisher, dear sister of Harvey Clemens (Mary), Willis Clemens (late wife Rose), Enid L’Ecuyer (late husband Rod), Olive MacIntosh (late husband John) and the late Jim Clemens (surviving Mary). She was aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. Gretta was born, and spent the years of her youth in Riceville, but has lived in Ottawa most of her adult life. She was a regular visitor to the Clemens' farm, an active participant in various family events and remained a friend and supporter of the Riceville United Church.

On October 24, 2008, Isabella Wilson died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 92. Isabella was born and lived for many years in Riceville, moving to St.Catharines much later in life to be near her daughters. A talented musician, artist and all around great person. Isabella's last gesture was the donation of one of her beautiful paintings to Riceville United Church.

We lost Joan Robillard on August 29, 2008, when she died peacefully in her sleep. Joan supported Riceville-Pendleton United Church Charge since 1953. She served many years on the Pendleton Board of Managers, was a UCW member and co-ordinator for the Observer subscriptions. We remember her husband Warren, sons Wayne and Michael and her grandchildren.

On August 27, 2008, George Wilson passed away at his home in Orleans at the age of 62. George, son of Jim and Margaret Wilson, was born and raised in Riceville. Although he had endured some health problems, his death was unexpected. We think of his wife Lilianne, daughter Charlene, her husband Jammy and George's many relatives in our area.

On July 7, 2008, in her 95th year, a former Riceville resident and supporter of the Riceville United Church, Ada Franklin died at the West End Villa, in Ottawa. We remember how pleased she was when she was able to return for a Sunday service and meet old friends.

On May 4, 2008, Jeannie Frigon-Dalrymple lost her long and courageous battle with cancer. Jeannie's love of her family and her faith gave her the strength and determination to live life to the fullest to the very end. Our thoughts and prayers are with Serge, Reyanne, Katie and Jeannie's family.

On March 13, 2008, Allan Alexander Presley passed away at 89 years of age. He is sadly missed by his brother Willard, and the following family members -Reg, Heather and Sydney Presley, Carol Ann, Neil, Daniel, Mark and Samantha Scott, Douglas Presley, Donald Presley and Richard Presley. Allan was a loyal member and supporter of the Riceville-Pendleton United Church.
